Product design

Product design

Most product design makes your app easier to use. Almost none of it makes your product the reason a buyer remembers your brand. That is the part we design for.

On this page

Product design is the design of the software your customers actually use: the app, the dashboard, the flows, the interface. We design it for software teams the same way we design everything else, so the product carries the same brand memory instead of resetting it. Here is what most studios miss. A buyer meets your brand in your marketing, remembers it or does not, then logs into a product that looks like every other SaaS dashboard, and whatever recall you earned leaks out on the first screen. We keep the product on-brand so recall compounds across every screen, and we put a number on it with a Memorability Score from 0 to 100. Safe is a template, and a template is invisible. If it doesn't get remembered, it doesn't ship.

Key takeaways
  • Product design here is the brand made usable, not a pile of screens.
  • If the product looks like every other SaaS, the memory your marketing earned resets at login.
  • It sits inside the full brand build, scored 0 to 100 before and after.
  • Consistent is not memorable. Distinct and shippable is the job.
Clarity to memorability A clear brand becomes relatable, and a relatable brand becomes remembered. Clear Relatable Remembered
Clarity makes you relatable, and relatable makes you remembered.

Who is product design for?

You do not need product design because your app looks dated. You need it when your product works fine and still leaves no trace, so a buyer who used you and three competitors could not tell you afterward which dashboard was yours.

That is the moment worth acting on. A few signs it is you.

Your product looks like every other SaaS. Same sidebar, same table, same rounded cards, same empty states everyone ships. It is usable, and it is invisible, and you know it.

Your brand stops at the login screen. You spent on a distinct identity for the marketing site, then the product it leads to wears none of it. The memory you earned resets the moment someone signs in.

You are losing on recall, not on features. Buyers trial you, forget which tool was which, and pick on price or on whoever they remember. Your product is good. Your recall is not.

You want the product to stand out but need it to stay shippable. You are not asking for decoration that slows the team down. You want a calculated move, a product surface that is distinct and still ships on time, backed by proof it was worth it.

If a generic, on-trend UI would make you happy and standing out holds no interest, we are the wrong studio, and we will say so. Playing it safe in the product is the same expensive choice as playing it safe anywhere else, because safe is a template, and a template is invisible.

That invisibility is the tax you pay every time a buyer cannot tell your dashboard from the pile.

What you get

Product design here is not a pile of screens. It is the brand made usable, so the thing your customer touches every day is also the thing that keeps them remembering you.

A product surface that carries the brand. The interface wears the same distinguishable visual language a competitor cannot, so the app is recognisably yours with the logo removed. This is where your brand identity stops being a marketing asset and becomes the product itself.

Flows designed for clarity, not decoration. The paths a user takes, onboarding, the core loop, the empty and error states, designed so a stranger understands what your product does and why it matters, fast. Clarity is what makes a product relatable, and relatable is what makes it remembered.

A UI kit the team can build on. Components, states, and patterns handed over so engineering ships the distinct version, not a drifted one, and the product stays on-brand as it grows instead of sliding back into sameness.

A Memorability Score for the product, before and after. A 0 to 100 read on whether the product surface makes you more memorable or less, so the work is judged by recall, not by whether the new UI feels nice in a review.

On-brand versus off-brand product design Off-brand, the product is one of three identical SaaS windows and recall resets. On-brand, the product window breaks the row and recall compounds. Off-brand: recall resets three identical dashboards On-brand: recall compounds your product
Off-brand, the product blends into SaaS sameness. On-brand, it carries the same memory.

How it works

For us product design is one process with clear parts, not a menu of interface decorations.

It starts with the brand decision, not the screen. Before anyone opens a design tool we anchor to the one true thing only your product can own and the buyer it is actually for. If that is not settled yet, this is the strategy and identity work, and the product is where it lands.

Then we design the surface to carry it. The visual language, the type, the motion, the components, all built so the product is distinct and still fast to use. Distinct does not mean noisy. It means a buyer can tell your product from the nine look-alikes with the logo covered.

Then we hand it to the team to build. You get the UI kit, the states, and the reasoning behind every decision, so engineering ships the memorable version and the product does not drift back into the pile as it scales.

Then we measure. We read your recall on the product surface before and after, so you can see whether the work moved memory, not just taste.

Where product design sits

Product design is one of the surfaces inside the full system, not a splinter we sell on its own. Here is how we work, from a free look to a full build. You start wherever you are.

Product design is strongest as part of the the full brand build, because a distinct product on top of a brand that has not decided what it stands for is decoration on sand. If you want the product surface designed on its own, it scopes inside a build, entered through the free Brand Clarity Call and priced within our $5,000 ceiling. Either way you can see where you stand today for free.

The marketing site and the product should carry the same memory. If they do not, recall resets at the login screen.

How will you know the product worked?

This is the question product studios avoid, so we built our proof around it.

The proof is the work itself. We put shipped products next to the AI-average lineup, the way your buyer actually meets them, so you can judge whether they stand out: see our case studies. We would rather show you the work than promise you a number we do not control.

The other signal is what teams say after. Every brand we have taken through this ends in the same place, knowing exactly who they are and why every decision in the product was made. That clarity is what makes the product relatable, and relatable is what makes it remembered long after the buyer closed the tab.

We do not promise your app will go viral. Memorability depends on the market, not only on the work. What we guarantee is the clarity: you will leave knowing exactly who you are, what your product stands for, and the reason behind every decision, with a product your buyer can understand and relate to. If you do not, we keep working until you do. We prove the memorability separately, in the products we ship.

FAQ

Is product design the same as UI UX design? Mostly it overlaps. UI and UX design cover how the product looks and how it flows. We do that, and we add the part most teams skip, whether the finished product makes your brand more memorable or less. The interface is a brand surface, not just a usability layer, so we measure recall alongside usability.

Do you only work with SaaS and software teams? Product design here is for anyone whose customer uses a screen daily: SaaS, apps, dashboards, internal tools. The problem we solve, a product that works but leaves no trace, is the same whether the product is a marketing tool or a fintech app.

Can you design the product without redoing our whole brand? Sometimes. If the brand is already distinct and decided, we carry it into the product surface. If the product looks generic because the brand underneath was never settled, we say so, because a distinct UI on an undecided brand just drifts back into sameness. The free Memorability Score tells you which case you are in.

How is this different from a design system project? A design system makes the product consistent. Consistent is not the same as memorable. You can be perfectly consistent and still look like every other SaaS. We build the system so it is consistently yours, distinct enough that a competitor cannot wear it, then measure whether it moved recall.
